In a significant move that aims to amplify its presence in the European golfing scene, GolfStar has entered into a long-term partnership with the Costa Daurada Golf Association. Announced in Cambrils on April 29, 2024, this collaboration seeks to increase the number of Swedish and Finnish golfers enjoying the exquisite courses just south of Barcelona, Spain.
Stefan Brikell, Marketing Director at GolfStar, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Together with the Costa Daurada Golf Association, we can now position this gem on the golfer’s map, which is fantastic. We are proud to initiate this strategic and profound cooperation.”
This partnership is not just about shared marketing efforts; it aims to deliver comprehensive golfing experiences. Jordi Hernandez, Director of the Costa Daurada Golf Association, noted the significance of this collaboration for their local enterprises. “Sweden and Finland are key markets for us, and through our collaboration with GolfStar, our member companies can market the region comprehensively, offering accommodations, golf courses, beaches, restaurants, vineyards, culture, and more to GolfStar’s 50,000 Nordic members. We are confident that this partnership will be highly successful,” Hernandez said.
The campaign kicks off with the organization of seven tournaments for GolfStar members from May to September, starting with the first event on May 25 at GolfStar Viksberg in Stockholm. Following the regional tournaments, two teams from each event will advance to the finals held in November in Costa Daurada.
Additionally, the partnership will see the full launch of GolfStar Travel, an exclusive travel agency catering only to its members. “This ‘own travel agency’ facilitates booking attractive Stay & Play packages at our selected golf courses and partners in Costa Daurada, which include accommodation, game rounds, restaurant visits, and wine tastings,” Brikell elaborated.
GolfStar operates six golf courses in the area, including their home club, GolfStar Cambrils, as well as the 18-hole Gaudí Golf, Panorámica Golf, and the 45-hole Infinitum Golf (formerly Lumine). The accommodation options are initially four selected hotels, enhancing the overall experience.
Highlighting the broad appeal of the Costa Daurada region, Stefan Brikell concluded, “With the variety of fantastic activities from wine tours to other activities combined with golf, we are convinced that GolfStar members will highly value this partnership, receiving the best value for their golf investment.”
